FOUNDER STORY

Welcome to KAEINTHE, a brand deeply rooted in tradition and inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Togo. Pronounced "Ka-inn-th," Kaeinthe was founded by Beinth, who hails from Lomé, Southern Togo, with ancestral roots in the North. In Niamtougou, where animism prevails, a unique ritual accompanies the return of hunters with an animal catch. Led by the chief, a dedicated group expresses sorrow to nature and builds a symbolic host to house the creature's soul, creating a harmonious pact with nature. This practice, reflected in sculptures across Africa, stems from the belief that nature and its creatures possess souls. Crafted swiftly to capture the essence before the animal's last breath, these sculptures are stored in dedicated huts, revered by a chosen individual.

Legend holds that nature, at times, tests humanity by allowing wild animals to assume human form, acting as unfiltered agents to observe and report human activities.

The Kaeinthe Shapeshifter capsule collection of luxury silk scarves pays homage to this sacred tradition, embracing the spirit of transformation and connection with the natural world. Likewise, our invigorating collection of quiet luxury handbags embodies the essence of harmonious elegance. Above all else, our brand is curated for those who unapologetically celebrate self-expression.

KAEINTHE STORY

A gathering of university friends in a forest takes a fateful turn when a lit cigarette butt accidentally sparks a bushfire, leading Nature to single out one individual: Laoise. Remarkably, the name "Laoise" in this tale pays homage to Beinth's late mother, chosen for its resemblance to a whisper that "Mother Nature" might breathe out. "Laoise" carries a melodic tone, juxtaposed with extraordinary misfortune—Laoise is not even a smoker but is chosen to bear a burden she didn't create, simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Under the moonlit sky, Laoise transforms into "Aja the leopard." Aja embodies a fierce, direct, fearless, and discerning alter ego, appointed to serve as Nature's vigilant observer in the modern world.
